Derby has Olympic Fever With Plans For A New £20million Velodrome.

Hailed as the ‘ultimate leisure centre and concert venue’, the new Velodrome, situated at Pride Park, will be a welcome addition to Derby’s local culture. Features will include a 5000-capacity concert hall, a state-of-the-art gym, 12 court sports hall and an outdoor cycle track that will circle the nearby nature reserve. The council said the new arena, due to open in February 2014, would replace some of its older sports centres.
