Six months on and we revisit Exeid.com and their latest office acquisition St Nicholas Court 25 to 27 Castle Gate, Nottingham. We talked with Managing Director Richard Priestley: So Richard, you acquired this building in the thick of what has been described as the most difficult trading conditions for 70 years in the commercial property sector. Was that a foolhardy or smart move and why? To be fair it was almost a bit of both. The property was first identified as a target by our CEO a few of years back. The film location business is probably as competitive as any so we were surprised to learn that Exeid is now considered one of the best in the business in the midlands.  They are an unusual company that has evolved an active Film and Photo Shoot business. Stanford House is one of Nottingham’s finest Georgian Mansions in the heart of the city and was built with a wonderful grand entrance hall accessed via the main entrance of Castle Gate. David Ajose CEO of Exeid, the rapidly expanding boutique commercial property consultancy commented on the recent changes in empty rates liability and the further impact of interest rates on the Commercial Property Market.  "We expect interest rates to firm up in Q3 this year adding more pressure on any highly geared property investments. This combined with empty  rates liability charges will mean that the commercial property market will be under pressure for the next two years at least. We think that the market will be no further on, in two years time than it is today. Then we believe that things will begin to improve slowly, towards the end of 2013 and into 2014".   If you like Georgian Architecture and  Buildings then you'll absolutely LOVE Stanford House in Nottingham. Stanford House is a Georgian  Gem in the heart of Nottingham only 60 seconds stroll from Marks and Spencer’s and the Broadmarsh, Jamies Italian Nottingham, Paul Smith and Carluccio’s are also near by. It has recently undergone a sensitive restoration with the original aim of becoming the Harrods of Nottingham. Sadly, complicated planning and building control rules put the blocks on what would have been a fantastic addition to the Nottingham Retail Tourism and Leisure scene (for the moment at least).
