PLANS UNDERWAY TO MAKE RUSHCLIFFE A HUB FOR TECH BUSINESS (press release)
Home / 19 Castle Gate / PLANS UNDERWAY TO MAKE RUSHCLIFFE A HUB FOR TECH BUSINESS (press release)
Refurbishment has begun on the Rushcliffe Civic Centre (Pavilion Rd, West Bridgford), as part of a wider plan to encourage economic growth to the area. Exeid, a Nottingham-based commercial property consultancy, signed a contract with Rushcliffe Borough Council in February, giving Exeid permission to refurbish and fill the floors which were in a state of disuse. The two floors have been rebranded as the Rushcliffe Technology and Enterprise Centre (RTEC) and will be utilised with buzzing tech and business companies.
Both Rushcliffe Borough Council and Exeid are hoping that RTEC will showcase the Rushcliffe location as a wise investment for business, with access to many small companies offering different services and networks, as well as a range of shops and leisure facilities such as the world-famous Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and Nottingham Forest Stadium. It will also serve to further encourage growth in the Digital Content industry, one of Nottingham’s key sectors.
Richard Priestley, Managing Director of Exeid, commented “this is our biggest business venture we have undertaken so far, and we’re really excited to be working with Rushcliffe Borough Council on such an important structure. We’re looking forward to attracting some fantastic companies who can join our already large network of clients, to work and collaborate with, and ultimately contribute to making Rushcliffe great for business.”
Kath Marriott, Executive Manager Transformation at Rushcliffe Borough Council said “With fantastic transport links, and great parking facilities, as well as the great networks Rushcliffe has already developed, RTEC is going to be the next place that companies will want to expand their business. The area sells itself, overlooking the beautiful Trent River. Being next door to Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and the Nottingham Forest ground, there will be a wonderful and inspiring atmosphere in which businesses of any size can grow.”
The office space will compromise of a top half, which will be filled with segmented offices for SME’s, and the lower space to be large and open plan, which will attract larger companies to the site.
Work on the building is anticipated to be completed by early June. It will be marked by a launch event on 27h June at the Civic Centre and organisers expect over 200 guests to attend.
