Our friends at TechCityNottingham (Twitter @techcitynotts) have just informed us of some exciting news.
Whilst Nottingham City council has come under criticism for its lack of support for small businesses in the past it seems that things may well be changing. A number of new initiatives designed to assist the SME sector have been introduced. We’ve talked about some of these before (click here for info) but one of the more recent initiatives which seems to have slipped under the radar is the N’Tech Grant fund. TechCityNotts and Exeid are therfore delighted to be able to pass on this information which could help boost your business.
The Central Governments ‘Regional Growth Fund’ was established to help businesses grow and particularly create new jobs. £10 million of this central fund has been allocated to Nottingham and is managed by the council to act as a primer for growth. The council has selected three sectors within which to focus this growth.
• Life sciences
• Digital content
• Clean technologies
With grants of between £20,000 and £1million per company to support business growth and expansion the grants are available for companies within the wider Nottingham Conurbation .
NTech grants are available to fund the delivery of the following activity:
• The exploitation of intellectual property
• The development of new technologies
• Investment in capital infrastructure
NTech forms part of the access to finance programme within the Nottingham Growth Plan and the wider package of business support included in the Nottingham City Deal.
